This is annual speech contest organized by the leadership of the Youth Ministry of LIFE THRUST MISSION CHAPEL OF HIS MERCY, NIGERIA.
LIFE THRUST YOUTH ANNUAL SPEECH CONTEST is designed to give students an idea of the value of public speaking. Contestants must prepare a five to seven minute speech on a particular topic that will be released very soon. They are rated on voice, physical manner, speech structure, development, language, value, and effectiveness of the speech.

This year's contest is in two parts:
Part One, essay writing. All the applicants would be asked to write an essay on a particular topic and panel of judges will award mark accordingly. All the points necessary for writing an effective essay shall be put in consideration while awarding the marks. This will enable us to choose best aspirant based on their hand writing and grammatical construction. Applicants with highest mark will progress to second stage.
Part two, this is the speech contest proper. This is for 6 most successful applicants that excel in the essay writing competition. All the contestants shall be given a topic to speak on for about 10 - 15 minutes.
Cash prizes are available for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position while there is going to be a lots of consolation prizes for all the participants.
